Settings & Shipping Method Mapping

This guide explains how to configure your Shopify-Wing integration settings and map your shipping methods to Wing carriers.

Accessing Integration Settings

  1. Log in to your Wing account at https://my.wing.eu
  2. Go to Settings > Integrations
  3. Find your Shopify store in the list
  4. Click the settings icon (gear) next to your store name
  5. The configuration panel will open

Available Settings

In the settings panel, you can configure:

  • Store Name - Display name for this store in Wing (for your reference)
  • Relay Point Carriers - Select which carriers offer relay point selection
  • Active Locations - Choose which Shopify locations to sync orders from

Shipping Method Mapping

Shipping method mapping is crucial for proper order synchronization. It tells Wing which Shopify shipping method corresponds to which Wing carrier.

Why Mapping Matters

  • Carrier Assignment - Ensures orders are assigned to the correct carrier
  • Service Level - Matches Shopify shipping methods with Wing service tiers
  • Relay Point Support - Identifies which methods support relay point selection
  • Error Prevention - Prevents "No service for carrier" errors

Setup Shopify Shipping Methods (Prerequisites)

Before you can map methods, you need to configure them in Shopify:

  1. In Shopify Admin, go to Settings > Shipping and delivery
  2. Click Manage rates under "General shipping rates"
  3. View or create your shipping rates
  4. Common examples:
    • Standard Shipping - Default ground shipping
    • Express Shipping - Expedited delivery
    • Colissimo Relay - Colissimo relay point delivery
    • Chronopost Relay - Chronopost relay point delivery
    • Mondial Relay - Mondial Relay network delivery

Map Methods to Wing Carriers

  1. In the Wing integration panel, click Sync carriers to load all Shopify shipping methods
  2. A list of your Shopify shipping methods will appear
  3. For each method, select a corresponding Wing carrier:
    • Choose the appropriate carrier (Colissimo, Chronopost, Mondial Relay, etc.)
    • Assign the correct service type (Ground, Express, Relay, etc.)
  4. Save your mapping

Configuring Multiple Locations

If your Shopify store has multiple locations:

  1. In the integration settings, select which locations should sync orders to Wing
  2. Orders from unselected locations will not be synchronized
  3. You can have different shipping methods per location

Relay Point Carrier Configuration

To enable relay point selection for customers, specify which carriers should display relay point options.

Select Relay Point Carriers

  1. In the integration settings, find the Relay Point Carriers section
  2. Check the carriers you want to support:
    • Colissimo - La Poste Colissimo network
    • Chronopost - Chronopost locations
    • Mondial Relay - Mondial Relay points
    • Atlas Pickup Point - Atlas network
  3. Save your changes

Ensure Corresponding Shipping Methods Exist

The relay point carriers you select must have corresponding shipping methods in Shopify:

  • If you enable Colissimo relay points, create a "Colissimo Relay" shipping method
  • If you enable Chronopost relay points, create a "Chronopost Relay" shipping method
  • If you enable Mondial Relay, create a "Mondial Relay" shipping method

Next Steps for Relay Points

After configuring relay point carriers:

  1. Proceed to Relay Point Selection Setup to enable the UI
  2. Activate Checkout Extensibility in Shopify
  3. Add the relay point selection widget to checkout pages

Store Configuration Settings

Store Name

The store name is used only for display in your Wing dashboard and has no impact on order synchronization.

  • Recommended: Use a descriptive name (e.g., "Shopify Main Store", "Shopify EU Store")
  • Can be changed anytime without affecting operations

Active Locations

Shopify locations represent different fulfillment centers or warehouses.

  1. Access Shopify location settings: Settings > Locations
  2. In Wing integration, select which locations' orders should sync
  3. Only orders from selected locations will be synchronized to Wing
  4. You can enable/disable locations at any time

Troubleshooting

"No Service for Carrier" Error

This occurs when a Shopify shipping method couldn't be matched to a Wing carrier.

Solution:

  1. Note the exact Shopify shipping method name from the error
  2. Create or update the carrier mapping
  3. Enter the exact shipping method name
  4. Assign it to the correct Wing carrier
  5. Manually retry failed orders from the Errors view

Shipping Methods Not Appearing

If you don't see your Shopify shipping methods:

  1. Verify methods are configured in Shopify (Settings > Shipping and delivery)
  2. Click Sync carriers button in Wing to refresh the list
  3. Check that your Shopify account has active shipping rates
  4. Ensure you have admin permissions

Changes Not Taking Effect

  • Settings changes are applied immediately to new orders
  • Historical orders keep their original carrier assignment
  • Clear your browser cache if you don't see updated settings

Best Practices

  1. Keep Names Consistent - Use clear, descriptive names for both Shopify methods and Wing carriers
  2. Test Mapping - Create test orders with each shipping method to verify correct carrier assignment
  3. Review Regularly - If you add new Shopify shipping methods, update your Wing mapping
  4. Document Mapping - Keep notes of your mapping for reference
